Indian Rupee ends strong at 72.47 against USD

Mumbai/UNI: The Rupee on Monday rallied by 31 paise to 72.47 against the US Dollar on brisk selling of US Dollar by bankers and exporters, dealers at the Forex Market said.

In opening trade, the local unit surged by 9 paise to 72.72 against the USD. Till the end of the day, it spurted by 31 paise to finish at 72.47 as compared to its last close.

The Rupee registered days high and low at 72.77 and 72.39 respectively.

The domestic unit spurted owing to weak dollar against other world currencies amid weak equity market, they added.
