Mumbai/UNI: The Rupee on Monday slipped by 16 paise to end at 73.77 against the US Dollar on rising demand for US Dollar by bankers and importers, dealers at the Forex Market said.

Surging by 28 paise on Friday, the domestic unit rose marginally by two paise to 73.59 in opening trade.

Later, it dropped 16 paise to close at 73.77 as compared to its previous close.

The Rupee was seen weak because of firm Dollar against other world currencies, inspite of strong equity market, dealers added.

The rupee registered intra days high and low at 73.80 and 73.55 respectively, he added.
