Indian Rupee falls 7 paise against USD

Mumbai/UNI: The Rupee on Tuesday, the last session of 2019 marginally fell by seven paise to 71.38 on rising demand for selling of US Dollars by bankers and importers, dealers at the Forex Market said.

The local unit rose by five paise to 71.26 in opening trade.

Later, it slipped and settled at 71.38, sliding by 7 paise, as compared to its last close.

A minor fluctuation was seen in early trade today, as local unit registered intra day high and low at 71.36 and 71.23, respectively.

The Rupee was seen weak owing to firm dollar against other world currencies, they added.
