Infosys Science Foundation organizes the fourth edition of 'Limit Infinity'
This year’s fest was organized keeping Physics as the central theme to commemorate the ‘International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies’.
The event featured interesting sessions that revealed the magical world of Physics and its many marvels to young enthusiasts. Catch the Word, Quizzes, Just-a-Minute (JAM), and a skit on Physics, were some of the sessions that took place during the day.
The 2015 edition also featured an engaging lecture on ‘Using Light’ by Prof. Rajaram Nityananda from Azim Premji University, Bangalore, and a juror for the Infosys Prize 2015 in the Physical Sciences category. The lecture focused on his research work related to light and astronomy and their vast applications.
Speaking on the occasion,S.D Shibulal, President, Board of Trustees, Infosys Science Foundation said,“Limit Infinity is our effort to demonstrate academic subjects can be exciting and useful. We chose Physics for this year’s edition since it also the ‘International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies’. The event will help students discover the importance of light in our lives and hear about the advances it has made possible: Right from the first lenses used by the ancient Egyptians to telescopes today that can look at the far corners of the universe. We believe that such events will help children explore the nature of science beyond what they learn in the classroom.”
