Key Indian benchmark indices end higher on Friday

Mumbai, April 27 (IBNS): Key Indian benchmark indices closed positive on Friday with BSE Sensex up 268.10 points at 34981.70 and NSE Nifty up 77.50 points at 10695.30.

Top gainers on Friday included Axis Bank, SBI, ICICI Bank, Sun Pharma, HPCL and L&T while HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra, TCS, Wipro, Coal India, Hero Motocorp and Maruti Suzuki were some of the stocks that reported a decline.

Meanwhile, according to media reports, the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council, in its May 7 meeting, is expected to discuss amendments in the indirect tax regime rules and consider a proposal to convert Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) into a government company.
