Mahindra's Auto Sector sells 34,652 units during July

Mumbai, Aug 1 (IBNS): Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.), a SUV manufacturer, on Saturday announced its auto sales numbers which stood at 34,652 units during July 2015 as against 35,567units during July 2014.

The Passenger Vehicles segment (which includes UVs, Cars and Vans) sold 14,456 units in July 2015 as against 16,569 units during July 2014. The company’s domestic sales stood at 31,087 units during July 2015 as against 33,047 units during July 2014. In July 2015, the Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles segment sold 314 units, registering a growth of 11%.

Exports for July 2015 stood at 3,565 units registering a growth of 41%.

Speaking on the auto sales performance, Pravin Shah, President & Chief Executive (Automotive), M&M Ltd. said, “While the auto industry is currently seeing muted growth, we do believe that the launch of some exciting new products will help it turn the tide. In addition, with the advent of a good monsoon till date and reduction in fuel prices, we expect sentiments to improve, leading to overall growth in auto sales. At Mahindra we continue to be excited with our portfolio of products as well as our upcoming launches. We are happy to have seen continuous growth in our HCV and exports numbers”.
