Mumbai: Fuel prices hiked yet again; petrol nears Rs 100
New Delhi/UNI: Petrol and diesel prices on Tuesday yet again witnessed a hike with petrol in Mumbai costing Rs 99.71 per litre.
In the four metro cities in the country, the petrol cost rose by 23 paise, while that of diesel went up by 27 paise.
So far in the month, the rates were increased 13 times.
During this time, petrol in Delhi has become expensive by Rs 3.04 and diesel by Rs 3.59.
According to leading oil marketing company Indian Oil Corporation, the prices of petrol in Mumbai today increased by 22 paise to be sold at Rs 99.71 per litre.
It has already crossed the Rs100-mark in some cities.
In the National Capital Delhi, petrol has become expensive by 23 paise to be sold at Rs 93.44 per litre, while diesel rates were increased by 25 paise to Rs 84.32 per litre.
Petrol prices increased by 20 paise in Chennai and 22 paise in Kolkata costing Rs 95.06 and Rs 93.49 per litre respectively.
The price of diesel rose by 27 paise in Mumbai, 24 paise in Chennai and 25 paise in Kolkata. The price of one litre of diesel reached Rs 91.57 in Mumbai, Rs 89.11 in Chennai and Rs 87.16 in Kolkata.
Petrol and diesel rates are reviewed daily based on which new prices are applied every day from 6 o'clock in the morning.
