Petrol, diesel prices slashed

New Delhi, Jan 15 (IBNS): Giving relief to consumers, Petrol and diesel prices were reduced on Friday, officials said.

While petrol price was slashed by paise a litre, diesel price was reduced by 85 paise per litre.

"Decrease in Retail Selling Price of Petrol by Rs. 0.32/litre at Delhi (including State levies) with corresponding price revision in other States. With this change, the price of Petrol in Delhi will become Rs. 59.03/litre," read a statement issued by state-run Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOC).

"Decrease in Retail Selling Price of Diesel by Rs. 0.85/litre at Delhi (including State levies) with corresponding price revision in other States. With this change, the price of Diesel in Delhi will become Rs. 44.18/litre," it said.

The new prices will come to effect from midnight tonight.
