Rajasthan opens doors wide with launch of Global Partnership Summit

Kolkata/Jaipur, Nov 19 (IBNS):The Resurgent Rajasthan Partnership Summit 2015, the two-day global investment meet organised by the Government of Rajasthan in association with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), got underway here on Thursday in the presence of the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley; Governor of Rajasthan, Kalyan Singh, among others.

Union inisters Ananth Kumar, M. Venkaiah Naidu, Suresh Prabhu, Rajiv Pratap Rudy;  State Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje; the State Industries Minister,Gajendra Singh Khimsar; State Chief Secretary C.S. Rajan; a wide cross-section of the captains of Indian industry; and business leaders, diplomats and  government  representatives from across the globe were present at the event.

Japan, Singapore, Italy and South Australia are international partners in the Resurgent Rajasthan Partnership Summit 2015.

The inauguration set the pace for the Summit with the  Chief Minister announcing that the commitments of investments stood at Rs. 3,30,000 crore generating 2.5 lakh jobs.

The summit brings together leading investors from across the world to interact with the political leadership, government officials and local business leaders to discuss investment opportunities in Rajasthan.

Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje said, “Under the able stewardship of the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, the Centre is nurturing an ecosystem of strong, empowered States.”

Asserting that the Summit was not a one-off event, she added, “We do not live in an economy but in a society. And that is why the Rajasthan Model of Development rests on the triad of ‘Social Justice’, ‘Effective Governance’ and ‘Job Creation’. ”

Chief Guest Arun Jaitley commended the Vasundhara Raje Government’s successful efforts over the last two years to rescue Rajasthan from a precarious state of public finance and noted with satisfaction that the Resurgent Rajasthan Partnership Summit was a movement that marked a steady flow of investment into the State.

M. Venkaiah Naidu, Minister of Urban Development and Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation, said that Rajasthan was the first State to achieve total convergence in the implementation of the country’s new urban initiatives.

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu revealed that the State Government would enter into a joint venture with the Railways to develop rail infrastructure in the State. He said 24 railway stations will be developed in the State.
