Kolkata, July 1 (IBNS): Rays Power Infra Pvt. Ltd., a solar EPC companies in India, on Wednesday announced its entry into the wind and transmission sector.
The company commissioned a 160 MW wind project, at a single location in Jaisalmer, along with a 220 KV sub-station and transmission line.

These were set-up in a record time of 120 days. The project will add to the already existing 3324.045 MW wind projects in Rajasthan, thereby helping the state-government to meet its renewable purchase obligation.

Thus far Rays Power Infra has successfully completed Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of more than 100 MW in the solar sector. With the Rajasthan project successfully in place, the company’s power-project-commissioned portfolio has reached 260 MW in the renewable power sector and another 150 MW will be completed by the end of this year.

On the development Ketan Mehta, Director, Rays Power Infra said, "This is indeed a very exciting time for the renewable energy sector in India.  The wind and transmission sector project that we have helped establish in Rajasthan is our first. We plan to undertake more such projects pan-India, particularly in states like Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telengana with an investment of Rs 200 crores. These we envisage to complete by the year 2016.”
