Rupee slips 19 paise against USD

Mumbai, Mar 1 (UNI) The Rupee on Friday slipped by 19 paise to 70.91 on rising demand for US Dollars by bankers and importers, dealers at Forex Market said.


Surging by 50 paise on Thursday, the local unit fell by two paise to 70.74 in early trade.

 

Till the end of the day, it slid by 19 paise to 70.91 as compared to its last close.

The domestic unit registered day high and low at 71.27 and 70.70 respectively.


Firm dollar against some other currencies pushed the Indian currency down, broker added.
