Sensex ends an all-time-high by touching 63,915.42 pts

Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Wednesday ended a lifetime-high at 63,915.42 on the strength of Capital Goods, Oil and Gas and Metal stocks amid monthly F and I expiry.

The Nifty too gained 154.70 pts at 18,972.10 pts.

The Sensex opened higher at 63,701, rising 285 pts. During the session it spurted 634 pts at 64,050.44, day high, before closing at 63,915.42, surging 499.39 pts from its previous close.

The stocks like BSE services shined by 2.35 pc followed by Capital Goods by 1.14 pc, Power by 1.02 pc, Oil and Gas by 0.85 pc and Metal by 0.80 pc.

In scrips, Tata Motors was a star gainer, up 2.33 pc to Rs 586.40, Sun Pharma by 2.13 pc to Rs 1023.05, Titan by 1.86 pc to Rs 3031.70, IndusInd Bank by 1.56 pc to Rs 1336.15 and L& T by 1.47 pc to Rs 2423.

The losers were Tech Mahindra by 0.95 pc to Rs 1108.80, M& M by 0.25 pc to Rs 1397, Bajaj Finserv by 0.16 pc to Rs 1520 and Kotak Bank by 0.08 pc to Rs 1043.35.
The Mid-cap rose by 0.73 pc and Small-cap by 0.08 pc.

In 30 scrips, 25 advanced while 5 declined.
