Sensex recovers by over 200 points

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Monday bounced back by 242.72 pts to 65,523.17 in the opening session as fresh buying was seen in Energy, banking, and FMCG stocks.

The Nifty too jumped 78.05 points to 19,409.85.

The midcap eased 0.05 pc, while the Small cap rose 0.03 pc.

In 30 scrips, 16 advanced while 14 declined.

The gainers were Reliance Industries, which rose by 3.48 pc to Rs 2727.25, Tata Motors, by 2 pc to Rs 630.80, Tata Steel, by.85 pc to Rs 112.55, SBI, by 075 pc to Rs 598.20, and HDFC, by 0.58 pc to Rs 2784.65.

The losers were HCL Technology by 2.46 pc to Rs 1128.60, Titan by 2.01 pc to Rs 3081.50, Powergrid by 1.62 pc to Rs 251.45, and Bajaj Finance by 1.49 pc to Rs 7508.
