Stock market opens in red post an extended weekend

Mumbai/UNI: Stock markets opened in red Monday with BSE Sensex going down by 205.64 points or 0.35% to 58,099.43 while Nifty plunged by 5.70 points or 0.03% to 17,363.55.

The stock market has opened after an extended weekend due to Ganesh Chaturthi that took place last Friday.

The BSE Sensex had closed 54.81 points higher at 58,305.07 last Thursday while the Nifty was up by 15.80 points at 17,369.30 continuing the bullish trend.
