Tata Motors partners with ASEAN Car Rally 2018
Guwahati/ Kolkata, Jan 12 (IBNS): The much awaited Indian ASEAN car rally, which will traverse through four countries zigazaging nearly 7000 km in 24 days, was ceremonially flagged off from Guwahati on Friday.
Tata Motors has partnered with the ASEAN rally and the Tata HEXA is the ‘Driven By’ partner for this rally.
Organised by the North East Federation of International Trade(NEFIT), Guwahati, this rally will cross through Imphal, Mandalay, Bagan, Yangon, Bangkok, Vientiane and then will return.
Speaking on the association, Vivek Srivatsa, Head- Marketing, Passenger Vehicle Business, Tata Motors, said, “We are delighted to partner with the coveted ASEAN Car Rally. The ASEAN car rally is a grueling and adventurous one and carries an important social message of protecting the Rhinos of Assam. The Tata HEXA has proven its mettle several times and established itself as a true bred off-roader. Our Tata HEXAs will be used in this rally and we are confident that it will be most suited for the toughest of terrains that the rally participants will cover in the next 3 weeks. I wish them all the luck for this exciting adventure.”
The NEFIT have been promoting trade and commerce with the South Eastern Countries and this rally is also a part of the same endevour.
The Oil India Limited, Bohiniman Systems and Gonand are the logo sponsors while Government of Assam, Manipur, Nagaland and Karbi Anglong Autonomous Councul shall be the logistical partners
Around 50 rallyist from all across the country shall take part in this grueling rally through the tri-national highway linking India, Myanmar and Thailand which is expected to be major trade route in future.
The main motto of the rally is to Save Rhinos of Assam as the rhinos are killed and horns are sold off at exorbitant value in the South Eastern market as medicine. The rally will take the route, which is considered the mail illegal trade route of the illegal rhino horn smuggling.
