The Bengal Chamber adopts two south Kolkata markets to hold sanitisation drives

Kolkata/IBNS: Kolkata-based Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry adopted two markets of Kolkata for sanitisation drives to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in the city.

They chose Gariahat and Jodhpur Park markets in south Kolkata for the sanitisation programme.

The organisation in its release said that it coordinated with Councilors of Ward No. 93 (Jodhpur Park Market) and Ward No. 68 (Gariahat Market) along with the Lake and Gariahat police stations to provide sanitisation resources, including masks, gloves, hand sanitizers and detergents.

B B Chatterjee, President, The Bengal Chamber and Subhodip Ghosh, Director General, visited the Jodhpur Park and Gariahat markets on consecutive days, April 14 and 15 during the sanitisation drives.

On April 15, they were joined by Smarajit Purkayastha, Deputy Director General, The Bengal Chamber.

JIS Group, Exide Industries Ltd and Trent Trading Corporation collaborated with the Bengal Chamber in this endeavour.
