US gas prices sets new record of $4.67 per gallon

Washington/UNI/Sputnik: Gas prices in the US just headed towards the wrong alley.

The US national average fuel price has hit a record high of $4.67 per gallon, the American Automobile Association (AAA) said on Wednesday.(AAA) said on Wednesday.

The national average price of gasoline increased by five cents, according to AAA. "Today’s AAA National Average [is] $4.671," it said.

The highest prices are being recorded in the US West, where four states have an average price of more than $5 per gallon.

Currently, the cost to fuel up your tank is 32 times more expensive than it was before the first day of the Ukraine-Russia clash, CNN reported.

California continues to hold an absolute record, with motorists there paying $6.194 per gallon.

Georgia has the lowest average price - $4.190 per gallon.

A year ago the average price for a gallon of regular gas was $3.045, AAA recalled.
