Mumbai: This New Year's Eve, apart from the restaurants, bakeries and other food joints, those delivering food from these establishments to the doorstep of the customers also benefited from the celebrations as people decided to make generous tips to delivery executives.

Parties and celebrations are an integral part of any New Year. Celebrations include food and drinks and spending heavily on them.

This year, delivery agents received huge tips for their services as their customers were in a happy mood and switched, though temporarily, to be generous.

The customers shared their celebrations with the delivery boys too.

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal tweeted that their delivery agents received tips to the tune of Rs 97 lakh on New Year's Eve.

The food delivery app received a huge number of orders and the customers generously tipped our agents too, he said.

Other food delivery apps, too, did brisk business during the New Year celebrations.

The CEOs of Swiggy and Zomato food delivery apps said that they had made more money this New Year in comparison to the last year.
