3.6 magnitude earthquake hits Kolkata, other parts of West Bengal
Kolkata, Aug 3 (IBNS): An earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter Scale hit Kolkata on Saturday, officials said.
Tremors were also felt in West Midnapore and Hooghly district.
Accoridng to India Meteorolgical Department website, the earthquake mainly hit the Howrah district region.
The epicentre of the quake was located at 22.5N and 88.1E.
It was felt at 4.29 pm.
It lasted for few seconds.
No casualty has been reported so far.
No damage to property has been reported.
