3.9-magnitude quake hits western Mongolia
Ulan Bator/Xinhua/UNI: A 3.9-magnitude earthquake hit the western Mongolian province of Khovd early Monday, according to the country's Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics.
The quake occurred 78 km southeast of Altai soum (administrative subdivision) of Khovd province at 2:58 a.m. local time (1858 GMT Sunday), the institute said in a statement, adding that no damage has been reported.
Khovd is one of all 21 provinces of Mongolia, bordering China to the west.
