6.4 earthquake hits China

Beijing, Jan 21 (IBNS): An earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter Scale hit China's Qinghai province on Thursday, media reports said.

Several houses have been damaged in the quake.

"The tremor jolted Hui Autonomous County of Menyuan at 1:13 a.m.. It damaged 54 houses, including 20 with cracks in the walls," Xinhua reported quoting county head Huang Jicheng.

Traffic and telephone connectivity remained normal following the quake.
