Air pollution causes over 70 lakh deaths worldwide :Indian medical practitioners

Lucknow/UNI: Suggesting that patients of chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases should be cautious amidst deteriorating air pollution, Dr Ved Prakash, head of department, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine department, King George Medical University here on Wednesday said increasing air pollution is biggest trouble in modern era and over 70 lakh person losing their lives due to this problem.

With motto “All together to end COPD” a conference was organised at KGMU here on World Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary diseases on Wednesday. Dr Prakash said COPD is third major cause of death across the globe.


Describing the cause for such diseases Dr Prakash said smoking, tobacco, pollution and other air pollution could be reason behind diseases and patients of asthma should take special precautions for prevention of such diseases.
