Amit Shah to chair meeting with Delhi CM over Covid-19 situation

New Delhi/UNI: As the number of Coronavirus infection cases are increasing rapidly in Delhi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will hold a review meeting on Sunday to assess the situation in the national Capital with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Health Minister Satyendra Jain and top officials.

The meeting which is scheduled at 1700 hrs today will also be attended by Niti Aayog member Dr VK Paul and Union Health Ministry and Home Ministry officials including Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, a senior Home Ministry official said here.

Mr Bhalla had reviewed the Delhi’s Covid situation on November 2 as part of the regular review of all Union Territories on a rotational basis and suggested slew of measures for quick containment of the sudden spike in cases including more and more testing and creating awareness among people to follow Covid guidelines.

Delhi and NCR region have been witnessing sudden spike in the cases in last two weeks because of festive seasons and rising pollution level.

As per the health Ministry record there were 7802 cases have been reported in Delhi on November 13 in last 24 hours which led to positive cases rate to 13.80 percent and also death of 91 patients.

With 41,100 new COVID-19 infections reported in the last 24 hours, India's total cases have surged to 88,14,579, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) said on Sunday while 447 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours, the count has mounted to 1,29,635.
