Dhaka/UNI: The Bangladesh government has decided to extend the ongoing restrictions till May 16 to contain the spread of Coronavirus.

The public transport will run within districts from May 6, but inter-district public transport will remain closed.

Besides, train services will also remain closed, Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam said this in a press briefing at Secretariat on Monday.

The Cabinet secretary said the government will close down markets if the authorities fail to comply with the health guidelines.

Police, magistrates and city corporations will monitor the situation and take action accordingly, he said.
