Essilor Vision Foundation, ARCOD, India Vision Institute bring cheer to suffering Tamil Nadu children

Chennai, Feb 25 (IBNS)  More than 300 children and 200 caregivers (parents and guardians) of Krishnagiri district in Tamil Nadu have benefited from a vision screening initiative by Essilor Vision Foundation (EVF) in association with ARCOD and India Vision Institute (IVI).

The program has come as a timely help to these children and their caregivers afflicted with severe health conditions through a detailed vision screening and free spectacles for the needy on 16 and 17 February in Krishnagiri town.

Through a program called Children of Krishnagiri, ARCOD works with over 300 children infected or affected by HIV/AIDS and their care-takers.

Around 160 people with refractive error have received free spectacles. “We are happy to collaborate with ARCOD and IVI to bring good vision to the children of Krishnagiri. Essilor Vision Foundation aims to bring Better Life Through Better Sight,” said EVF Head Mahesh KV.

“EVF is particularly pleased at being able to support the initiative as several members of the Essilor family got the opportunity to participate in it,” he noted.

“IVI is very pleased to be able to work with EVF and ARCOD in this worthwhile initiative as it reaches out to children and their caregivers with severe health conditions such as HIV/AIDS,” said IVI CEO Vinod Daniel.

ARCOD Executive Director, Keshava Raj, said “tie ups and collaborations such as these help us multiply benefits to people with whom we work as also expand our outreach.”
