Fight against COVID-19: UP govt to allow home isolation for asymptomatic patients with protocols
Lucknow/UNI: After giving much thought in the wake of rising asymptomatic coronavirus cases in the cities, Uttar Pradesh government has now allowed home isolation of these patients.
"Home isolation for asymptomatic patients would be allowed on the terms of following the laid down protocols by the patients as well their family members," said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath after the regular meeting with the state officials here on Monday.
He said though government was not ready for the home isolation and there are adequate numbers of beds in the Covid hospitals but as the asymptomatic patients were hiding their symptoms, hence now home isolation with strict protocol has been allowed.
"The patient and their family members will have to follow the guidelines of home isolation then only it will be allowed," Mr Adityanath added.
The CM in the meeting stressed the need for awareness among the people about prevention from corona and how to increase their immunity power to fight with the virus. He said people should download Ayush Kawach and Arogaya Setu Apps for increasing their immunity and get alert on corona.
Besides, he asked the health department to decrease the death rate due to Covid to its minimum level while more efforts should be made for contact tracing of the positive cases.
Mr Adityanath has asked the senior officials to rush special doctors team to Lucknow, Kanpur, Basti, Prayagraj, Bareilly, Gorakhpur, Ballia, Jhansi, Moradabad and Varanasi, where there are increase in the number of positive cases.
He also directed that a meeting should be held between IMA and nursing association officials in all the districts to strengthen the health system.
