Get OPD booking, other facilities at govt hospitals through web portal

| | Feb 24, 2017, at 07:19 pm
New Delhi, Feb 24 (IBNS): The Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has launched an online portal where a host of facilities can be availed with regard to government hospitals.

By visiting the http://www.ors.gov.in, people will be able to get appointment in the outpatients department (OPD), access laboratory reports and know about availability of blood in any government hospital.

An Online Registration System (ORS) links various hospitals across the country for Aadhaar-based online registration and appointment system, where counter-based OPD registration and appointment system through Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) has been digitalized.

The application has been hosted on the cloud services of NIC.

The portal facilitates online appointments with various departments of different hospitals using eKYC data of Aadhaar number, if patient's mobile number is registered with UIDAI.

In case mobile number is not registered with UIDAI, it uses patient's name.

New patient will get appointment as well as Unique Health Identification (UHID) number.

If Aadhaar number is already linked with UHID number, then appointment number will be given and UHID will remain same.

Currently, 63 government hospitals across the country can be reached through the portal.
