Kolkata/IBNS: A joint secretary-level IAS official posted at West Bengal secretariat Nabanna in Howrah has tested positive for Covid-19, sources said on Thursday.

According to reports, the 2013 batch IAS officer, who is posted as a joint secretary of Land and Land Reforms (L&LR), and Refugee Relief and Rehabilitation (RR&R) departments, had joined back her duty on Friday (June 26) from maternity leave.

A day later, she had started showing Covid-19 symptoms following which her swab sample was sent for test and her report came positive on Thursday.

A source in the state secretariat said that the office of the IAS officer at Nabanna (Room No. 608) had been sanitized and contact tracing was on to find other people the IAS officer may have met at Nabanna.
