India records 30,948 COVID infections in 24 hours, registers lowest active cases in 5 months

New Delhi/IBNS: India recorded 30,948 new COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours pushing the total tally of cases to 3,24,24,234. The death toll too climbed to 4,34,367 with 403 fresh fatalities, according to Union Health Ministry data on Sunday.

However, the active cases have declined and account for 1.09% of total cases, which is the lowest since March 2020.

India's active caseload at present stands at 3,53,398, the lowest in 152 days.

The recovery rate has also improved  to 97.57%, which is also the highest since March 2020.

According to the Health Ministry, 38,487 recoveries were recorded in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,16,36,469.

Meanwhile, 58.14 Cr. vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
