India records 7,774 new COVID-19 infections in last 24 hours, active cases lowest in 18 months
New Delhi/IBNS: India registered 7,774 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours amid the fear of the Omicron variant, the Union Health Ministry said in a statement on Sunday.
India's active caseload currently stands at 92,281, which is the lowest in 560 days.
The active cases account for less than 1 percent of total cases, which is currently at 0.27 percent.
The recovery rate currently stands at 98.36 percent, which is the highest since March 2020.
About 8,464 recoveries were recorded in the last 24 hours, which has pushed total recoveries to 3,41,22,795.
Meanwhile, 132.93 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
