India registers 18,795 new COVID-19 cases in past 24 hours, lowest daily count recorded in past 201 days

New Delhi: India recorded 18,795 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, as per data released by the Ministry of Health on Tuesday.

It is the first time after 201 days that India recorded less than 20,000 daily cases.

The country registered 179 deaths in the past 24 hours.

Active cases account for less than 1% of total cases.

It currently stands at 0.87 percent.

India's Active caseload stands at 2,92,206 which is the lowest figure in 192 days.

Recovery Rate currently stands at 97.81%.

26,030 recoveries registered in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, more than 1 crore doses have been administered in the last 24 hours across the country, giving yet another boost to India's effort to vaccinate its population against the deadly virus.
