India reports 12,881 fresh Covid cases, 334 deaths in 24 hours

New Delhi/IBNS: India, the country of 1.3 billion people, has reported 12,881 fresh Novel Coronavirus cases and 334 deaths in 24 hours between Wednesday and Thursday mornings.

The total number of active cases in India is now 1,60,384 while 1,94,325 Covid patients have recovered so far.

12,237 people have died so far from Covid-19.

Amid the deteriorating condition worldwide, experts in the United Kingdom have suggested that treating Coronavirus patients with low doses of the generic steroid drug dexamethasone have been effective in reducing death rates.

According to new trial data published on Tuesday, the drug had reduced death rates by around a third among those having the most severe conditions due to the infection.
