India reports 2,897 new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours

New Delhi/UNI: India registered 2,897 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry said Wednesday.

According to the Ministry's bulletin, the total caseload rose to 4,31,10,586 while the death toll rose to 5,24,157 after 54 more people apparently succumbed to the disease.

On the other hand, 2,986 more people recovered from the disease, taking the total tally of recoveries to 4,25,66,935.

The recovery rate currently stands at 98.74%.

The active caseload currently stands at 19,494, the figures showed.

As per the bulletin, 84.19 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.

India has administered 190.67 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive.
