Karkinos Health Care inaugurates Cancer Care Center in Kolkata
Karkinos Health Care, supported by Tata Group, Reliance Foundation and Mayo Clinic, has recently inaugurated a Cancer Care Center in Kolkata's Agarpara.
The services include, high-end Radiotherapy, sub-speciality based on surgery, planned and protocol-driven chemotherapy, well-managed diagnosis, treatment and prevention of blood cancers, novel and organ-specific immune and targeted therapies and peer-reviewed, population-level risk assessment and screening of the common forms.
Further, the hospital is equipped with a critical care unit, operation theatre and IPD services.
Speaking about the association, Dr. Akhter Jawade said, "Awareness and early detection of cancer are very important in the control of this dreaded disease, as the late-stage disease is difficult to control.
"The uniqueness of the partnership lies in its focus to reduce the cancer burden by driving community oncology programmes for early detection and diagnosis of cancer cases, and supporting it with a strong referral pathway for continued care."
Medella Cancer Cure Center, a technology-driven end–to–end cancer care platform joined hands with Karkinos Healthcare Pvt Ltd to strengthen cancer care in the region.
The partnership shall work towards providing technology-enabled protocol-driven, affordable and managed quality cancer care under the banner of Medella –Karkinos Cancer Care Center.
"Cervical cancer can be prevented for girls between the ages of 9 and 26 with appropriate vaccines," said Dr. G K. Rath, Former Director of Oncology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi at the inaugural ceremony of Karkinos Cancer Care Center.
Dr. Rath also mentioned that in many cases the early detection has helped a lot of patients to recover completely from this deadly disease.
