Pune July 30 (IBNS): At least 150 people are feared to be trapped under debris as landslide hit Maharashtra's Ambegaon village on Wednesday, media reports said.

Two teams of the National Disaster Response have left for the spot.

Alok Avasthy, Commandmant NDRF, told CNN-IBN, "The Pune District Collector gave the information of major landslide at 10:45 AM. Around 40 houses and 150 people are feared to be trapped under the debris."

Heavy rains have lashed the area.

Local NCP MLA Dilip Walse told the news channel the connectivity in the area is poor.

Walse said, "The NDRF has not yet reached the spot. The collector, police, medical teams have reached the spot."

He added, "This is a very remote area and connectivity is poor. This is a heavy rain area. The Revenue commissioner is monitoring the rescue operation from Pune."
