Maharashtra reports 2,336 new Covid cases and 5 deaths

Aurangabad/Mumbai/UNI: Maharashtra reported 2,336 fresh Covid-19 cases and 5 related deaths, according to a health bulletin on Sunday.

With these new additions, the state’s cumulative case tally has surged to 80,32,246 and the death toll moved up to 1,48,056.

Meanwhile, 2,311 patients were cured and discharged during the day across the state, taking the overall count of recoveries to 78,69,591.

The state's recovery rate currently stands at 97.97 per cent and the fatality rate at 1.84 per cent.

Presently, 14,599 active patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals, across the state, the bulletin added.

Meanwhile, the Marathwada region of the state reported 160 new Coivd cases, of which 61 cases were reported from Osmanabad district, 49 cases from Aurangabad district, 31 cases from Latur district, 19 cases from Jalna district, while the remaining 4 districts of the region did not report any new cases, the bulletin added.
