Mumbai/IBNS: With a drop in daily cases, Mumbai reported just 953 fresh Covid infections on Tuesday, its lowest since Mar 2.

After being ravaged by the deadly second wave of Covid-19, Mumbai's daily coronavirus case figure has dropped below the 1,000-mark after over 10 weeks.

However, Covid testing too has sharply declined compared to the April levels.

Maharashtra's capital recorded 44 deaths in the last 24 hours.

The positivity rate in Mumbai was 5.31 per cent, way lower than the April figures.

The city's recovery rate has improved to 93 per cent, whereas the doubling rate rests at 255 days.

Mumbai had reported 849 cases on March 2.
