MyGovIndia profile on short video platform Likee provides Covid-19 updates
New Delhi/IBNS: Union government’s citizen engagement platform MyGovIndia has launched an official profile on Likee App, a short video platform by Singapore-based BIGO Technology Pte Ltd.
On April 26 this year, MyGovIndia went live on Likee to stream the 64th edition of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’.
The profile on Likee also contains a link to download the Aarogya Setu app from both Google Play Store and App Store.
Aarogya Setu mobile application has been developed by the Union government to track novel coronavirus patients.
A hashtag, #AarogyaSetu, has also been launched on Likee to ensure increased downloads of the app, which is designed to alert people if anyone in their vicinity tests positive for Covid-19.
Popular Bollywood and Indian television actors Isha Koppikar and Aamir Ali, are also collaborating with Likee to promote #AarogyaSetu.
According to a release, Likee influencers and other users have created multiple informative videos under the hashtag, which has clocked more than 140 million views.
Abhishek Singh, CEO, MyGovIndia, said, "It has been the endeavor of MyGov to act as a bridge between citizens and government and ensure citizen participation and information dissemination on popular platforms such as Likee. Towards this objective, the MyGov Likee page has greatly helped increase our outreach and engagement related to Covid19, especially with regional audiences."
