Nagaland registers 25 new COVID-19 infections

Kohima/UNI: A total of 25 new COVID-19 cases were detected today in Nagaland, taking the total tally to 3,583.

Nagaland Principal Secretary for Home Abhijit Sinha in his daily briefing on the COVID-19 situation in the state said of the total 3,583 positive cases, 1,648 are active cases and seven people have succumbed to the illness.

Giving a break up of the cases in terms of severity, he said 1,624 active cases are asymptomatic, while 22 active cases are mild and 2 active cases are moderate.

Further, out of the 3,583 positive cases, the distribution across various categories of people are 1,567 cases are from the Armed Forces, 1,198 cases are among returnees, 238 cases are Frontline Workers and 580 cases are those who were detected during contact tracing, Sinha informed.

The sick people are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals and COVID-19 Care Centres.

Further, active surveillance and contact tracing is also in progress to prevent further spreading of the infection.

A total of 33,504 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 32,161 samples have been received, he said.

In addition, a total of 21,497 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat.

A total 1,605 persons are presently under Facility Quarantine, Sinha added.
