Odisha: Covid-19 positive case rises to 40

Bhubaneswar/UNI: The number of COVID-19 positive cases in Odisha went up to 40 after a 32-year-old man from Kendrapara tested positive last night.

The Health and Family Welfare department in a tweet late last night said the man had returned from Dubai on March 24 last.

Kendrapara District Collector said the infected person is from Aul area of the district. The authorities have sealed three Km radius of the village of the infected person and his family members are kept in home quarantine.

The Collector said the patient is being sent to Aswini hospital Cuttack for treatment.

This is the first COVID19 positive case from Kendrapara and the second person who returned from Dubai to be confirmed with Corona virus.

Earlier, a 29-year-old, who worked in Dubai, had tested positive for Corona Virus in Bhadrak district.

Steps are being made to trace the persons he might have come in contact.

Out of the 40 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 32 are from Bhubaneswar, three from Bhadrak and one each from Cuttack, Jajpur, Puri, Kalahandi and Kendrapara.

The state government has set up 1497 beds in seven COVID19 Hospitals developed with the assistance of various private health care facilities and state Public Sector undertakings.for the treatment of patients infected by Corona virus.
