Rising COVID-19 cases: Jharkhand govt imposes partial lockdown from April 22-29
Ranchi/UNI: In order to break the chain of coronavirus, the Jharkhand Government on Tuesday imposed a partial lockdown in the state, starting April 22, 1800hrs till April 29, 1800hrs.
An announcement in this regard was made by Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday afternoon.
In his address to the people of the state, Soren emphasised on the importance of breaking the chain of Coronavirus and added that his priority was saving life and livelihood.
"Therefore, Swasthya Suraksha Saptah (Health Safety Week) will be observed from April 22, 2021, 6 pm to April 29, 6 pm by all so that chain of Coronavirus is broken and its spread contained," he said.
Except shops selling essential items all other shops will remain closed, he added.
Other than identified offices of Government of India, State Government and Private Sectors all other offices will remain closed.
Agriculture, industrial and mining activities will continue, he said.
Though religious spots will remain open but devotees will not be allowed, he added.
Not more than 5 people will be allowed to assemble at one place, he further added.
He urged the people to cooperate with the administration in implementing the lockdown.
He asked the people to stay inside their homes and come only in case of emergency.
