Sharp spike in COVID-19 cases: Delhi reports whooping 2,224 infections

New Delhi/UNI:  Delhi on Sunday registered the highest ever single day spike of 2,224 novel coronavirus infections, taking the city's tally to 41,182.

As per the state health bulletin, with 56 fatalities reported since Saturday, city's death toll has now mounted to 1327.

Cases under active medical supervision have zoomed to 24032 in the city, while 695 patients have occupied the ICU beds. As many as 182 are fighting against the contagion on ventilator support.

Meanwhile, 15823 patients have recovered so far from the viral infection in the city, after 878 contagion survivors were added to the list since Saturday.

Cumulative tests done till date in the national capital are now 2,90,592.

There has been no rise in the number of containment zones since Friday and the figure currently stands at 222.
