Suspected Coronavirus patient commits suicide in UP

Shamli/UNI: A suspected Novel Coronavirus patient committed suicide at a hospital in this Uttar Pradesh district on Thursday.

District Magistrate (DM) Jasjit Kaur said that the 40-year-old patient had been admitted to a hospital on March 31 after symptoms of Coronavirus were found in him.

The DM said that the patient, a resident of the Kandhala area, was in depression after coming to the hospital. He had been admitted to the isolation ward.

He committed suicide by hanging himself, this morning. The sample of the suspect had been sent for testing but the report is yet to arrive.

Notably, a 'lipik' had allegedly committed suicide over fears related to the Coronavirus, two days back here.
