Thane: KDMC collects fine of Rs 1.35 lakh for not wearing mask in public place

Thane/UNI: Though the restriction of lockdown has been lifting to some extent in the Thane district, but wearing of 'mask' was compulsory in public places.

Violating this, the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has collected a fine of Rs 1.35 lakh in last couple of days, an official release by the civic corporation said on Saturday.

It was immediately after the Municipal Commissioner, Dr Vijay Suryavnashi took over the warning was issued to the citizens and traders that the civic corporation would fine those not not adhering to the instructions during the pandemic.


The maximum of fine of Rs 67500 was collected from the B Ward while the minimum was from I ward, the release said.

The Commissioner also declared that the drive would continue hereafter against those who violate the orders of the civic corporation.

Incidentally, the KDMC civic limits has been since the last one week reporting maximum of daily positive cases which crosses 200 and yesterday it reported as many as 358 cases.
