Three Kolkata doctors test positive for Covid-19, West Bengal's Coronavirus death toll touches seven
Kolkata/IBNS: Three doctors from Kolkata and its adjoining areas have tested positive for COVID-19 as death toll due to the disease touched seven on Sunday.
Sources in the West Bengal Health and Family Welfare department on Sunday said that three doctors from Kolkata and its adjoining areas had tested positive for novel coronavirus.
According to reports, a doctor of state-run Howrah District Hospital's emergency department has tested Covid-19 positive while two physicians attached with a private health facility in south Kolkata and a nursing home in New Town area have also tested positive for novel coronavirus.
State health officials said that Howrah District Hospital's Covid-19 infected doctor has been admitted to M.R. Bangur hospital in Kolkata while remaining two medical practitioners from Kolkata are undergoing treatment at Beliaghata ID hospital.
Days ago, Howrah District Hospital's Superintendent and a non-medical staff had tested positive for novel coronavirus and they are undergoing treatments in a Kolkata hospital.
Meanwhile, according to a data shared by state health department, Bengal is presently treating 95 active Covid-19 patients and the death toll due to novel coronavirus has mounted to seven.
Currently, 329 persons are under hospital isolation in West Bengal while the state has tested 2523 samples for Covid-19 so far.
Meanwhile, West Bengal government made wearing mask or any other items like 'Gamcha' or handerchief compulsory for people in public.
