Total positive Coronavirus cases in India rise to 491

New Delhi/IBNS: The total positive Novel Coronavirus cases in the country rose to 491 on Tuesday with the state of Kerala reporting the most of them.

According the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Kerala has reported 95 cases followed by Maharashtra (87).

To stop the spread of the pandemic, India has placed its major cities and about 75 districts under a stringent lockdown amid cases of Coronavirus emerging and claiming lives.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose appeal saw a successful "Janata Curfew" (people's lockdown) on Sunday, has urged people to take the lockdown seriously after many were found flouting the rules.

The Prime Minister will at 8 pm on Tuesday address the nation over COVID-19.

He tweeted, "Will address the nation at 8 PM today, 24th March 2020, on vital aspects relating to the menace of COVID-19."
