Two poachers killed in Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary

Guwahati, Jan 20 (IBNS) : Two poachers were killed by patrolling forest guards in Assam's Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary on Tuesday, officials said.

According to reports, patrolling forest guards  spotted two poachers near Tupling forest camp area inside the wildlife Sanctuary on Tuesday morning and killed the poacher duo after a fierce gun battle.

Forest guards recovered one 303 rifle and several rounds of ammunition in possession from them.

Earlier in this year forest guards killed four rhino poachers and arrested three others in Kaziranga National Park.

Poachers killed four one horned rhinos including three in Kaziranga in the state  this year so far.
