Aricent to impart employable skills to 2500 engineering students

New Delhi, Jan 28 (IBNS) : Aricent and NASSCOM Foundation on Thursday jointly announced the launch of 'Aricent Employability Program' a unique CSR initiative to create greater employability opportunities for 2500 college students, by up-skilling engineering undergraduates across Delhi NCR, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu regions.

Delivered through India’s leading vocational training provider/s and governed by NASSCOM Foundation, this On-Campus program will equip students in select cities and colleges with skills in specialized areas such as JAVA, Testing and Software Development, among others enabling them to find employment across the IT-BPM industry. 

The program will also train them in essentials such as oral and written communication, business etiquettes, problem solving, time management, customer orientation, interview skills and other soft skills required to enhance their employment opportunities. The candidates will be asessed on the NDSC- SSC NASSCOM  Qualification Parameters(QP) and certified on the relevant Job role , enhaning the chances of employment

Congratulating the team at the India Office, Payal Koul Mirakhur, Chief Strategy Officer & Chair of CSR Committee, Aricent, said, “Aricent has always worked towards transforming lives through its innovative product engineering services and this CSR intervention is just an extension to this ultimate goal. With the help of NASSCOM Foundation, we intend to create a win-win situation for the young students and the industry - where the industry gets highly skilled graduates right from the college and the students get vastly enhanced employment opportunities.”

The vocational training curriculum content will be developed by the training providers in collaboration with Aricent and will be aligned to NASSCOM Sector Skills Council’s (NASSCOM SSC) QPs. NASSCOM Foundation will be responsible for fund utilization, monitoring the implementation and CSR impact reporting of the project and will also be responsible for governance on the success metrics for the Project.

Shrikant Sinha, CEO, NASSCOM Foundation said, “How to make engineering graduates more employable is a puzzle, the industry has been trying to solve for quite some time now. We are glad to partner with Aricent to train the youth on key skills and make them employment ready for any IT-BPM company to hire. This partnership also is a great example of how CSR money can be used for the benefit of creating more employment opportunities for the ever expanding young population of our country.”
