Asha Bhosle to pay tribute to four legendary music composers

Mumbai, Aug 21 (IBNS): The Bengal Tigers - A tribute to four legendary music composers of Indian Film Industry - Sachin Dev Burman, Hemant Kumar, Salil Chowdhury and Rahul Dev Burman by performing at an extravagant show to be held on Sept 1,  at the Shanmukhananda Hall, Sion.

The highlight of the show is Asha Bhosle sharing her experiences about all 4 Bengal Tigers.

The First edition of Bengal Tigers, showcasing the musical journey of four legendary music composers of Indian Film Industry-Sachin Dev Burman, Hemant Kumar, Salil Chowdhury and Rahul Dev Burman, will be brought forth by Badaam Raja Productions’ Vinayak Gawande , Ninad Karpe and Poonam Torgal on Sept 1, 2018 at Shanmukhanada Hall, Mumbai.

Compositions of four reference points of Indian Music- Sachin Dev Burman, Rahul Dev Burman, Hemant Kumar & Salil Chowdhary will be presented featuring young artistes.

The show will feature some of the best talent in the music industry- Shailaja Subramanian, Anindita Paul, Adish Telang and Hrishikesh Ranade on vocal and a troupe of 15 musicians on melody and percussion instruments conducted by by Kamlesh Bhadkamkar. Conceived and directed by renowned music director Rahul Ranade, The Bengal Tigers goes beyond conventional film music shows, taking the audience on a trip of nostalgia and history behind each of their iconic songs.

The concert will present the choicest of each of the composer’s compositions in Hindi, English and Bengali weaved through a narrative describing their journey and evolution of music with the advent of each of them. A well-researched script by Pravin Joshi will be hosted by the versatile actor Sumeet Raghavan.

He will be interacting with the audience throughout the show, getting them to participate actively while bringing back the memories and the sheer magic created by the four pillars of Indian Film Music in their illustrious career.

Rahul Ranade, Creative Director of the show shared his sentiments, “My idea was to go beyond the routine orchestra drill. The Bengal Tiger promises to bring forth the most popular songs along with some rare and unheard melodies composed by each of the gems. The show is for everyone who loves Indian Film Music or quality music in general. While we have regaled their melodies for decades now, it would be important to know the process and journey behind each composition. I also think, the current generation needs to be aware and educated about the glorious musical history of Indian Film Music. As a die-hard and deriving musical inspiration all throughout my career from them, I am glad to pay a tribute to them.”
