Assam girl wins East Zone beauty contest

Kolkata, Mar 7 (IBNS) Guwahati girl Krishnamoni Hazarika won the crown of Miss India Beauty 2016 finale (Eastern zone) pipping 19 other finalists from the region in a beauty pageant organised by Silver Dream Entertainment.

The doe-eyed girl from Assam, impressed the judges including fashion designer Abhisek Dutta and nationally known model Satarupa Pyne with her candid reply about her priorities as a woman in this world of many opportunities and with her poise.

Upasana Maitra from Hooghly was the first runner up followed by Payel Mondol from Kolkata at a glittering function in the city recently.

Satarupa said the present day girls were ambitious and wanted to prove themselves knowing there was no alternative to staying focussed and Bengal has the pool of talents which need to be nurtured.
